RIVERRAFTING can be combined with visit to Jim Corbet, Rajaji National Park and local sightseeing of Haridwar. We offer a expedition for the adventure seeker down an exciting and vibrant river, one of the main tributaries of the Ganga river. A chance to see famous Tehri Dam to reach a difficult put-in. The pleasure of travelling down a remote part of this river make it a very exciting trip, besides the whitewater which will leave you wanting more.

Rafting 4-5 hours each day, we set up camp on secluded beaches on our way downriver, passing the town of Devprayag where the Bhagirathi meets the Alaknanda river to form the Ganga river. We cover 138 kms till Rishikesh, through several rapids (mostly Grades 3 and 4) on the Bhagirathi till its confluence with the Alaknanda at Devprayag to form the Ganga. A must -do if you are looking for a great river run in Asia.

Day 1.Drive 5 hours from Delhi to Ganga Nature Camp on the banks of the Ganga (11kms. beyond Rishikesh). passing through the sugarcane belt of India and reaching holy town of Rishikesh where the Ganga River enters the plains. We check into camp, which is located on a large sandy beach on the banks of the Ganga river - briefing on Camp, its activities and the trip to follow. Campfire dinner and overnight at Camp.

Day2. An early start to drive 4 hours to reach the raft put in point below the Tehri Dam tunnel. Begin with negotiating a series of Grade 3+rapids, in the first gorge section. The valley broadens and after a river lunch, camp is made after covering 30 river kms near Naggar village. Take a short hike, campfire dinner and overnight.

Day3. Continue down river negotiating more Grade III+ rapids. A short lunch break, back on the river as it enters its second gorge section with continuous Grade III & IV rapids including a small waterfall towards the end of the gorge. Rapids keep coming culminating in a couple of continuous Grade IVs at the confluence at Devprayag. Camp near Beas Ghat, 10 kms below the confluence, famous fishing spot for the `mahseer', also called the Ganga Gold.at Camp.

Day 4. An easy day with small rapids. Great day to relax, soak in the sun, bodysurf and bird-watch. Raft till Camp Silver Sands a few kms below Kaudiyala after negotiating two Grade IV rapids, "Daniel's Dip" and the "Wall". Distance covered is approx.35 kms.

Day 5. Begin the day with a few small rapids, go down "Three Blind Mice", "Crossfire" and "Body Surfing Rapid". Drive back to camp after covering 15 kms.

Day 6.Drive to Shivpuri after breakfast. Raft big volume Ganga white water with "Roller Coaster" and "Golf Course" combined with lots of body surfing, making it a grand finale to the expedition. Depart for Delhi.
