Rajaji National Park and local sightseeing
of Haridwar. We offer a expedition
for the adventure seeker down an exciting
and vibrant river, one of the main tributaries
of the Ganga river. A chance to see famous
Tehri Dam to reach a difficult put-in. The
pleasure of travelling down a remote part
of this river make it a very exciting trip,
besides the whitewater which will leave
you wanting more.

Rafting 4-5 hours each
day, we set up camp on secluded beaches on our way
downriver, passing the town of Devprayag where the
Bhagirathi meets the Alaknanda river to form the
Ganga river. We cover 138 kms till Rishikesh, through
several rapids (mostly Grades 3 and 4) on the Bhagirathi
till its confluence with the Alaknanda at Devprayag
to form the Ganga. A must -do if you are looking
for a great river run in Asia.
Day 1.Drive
5 hours from Delhi to Ganga Nature Camp on the banks of the
Ganga (11kms. beyond Rishikesh). passing through the sugarcane
belt of India and reaching holy town of Rishikesh where the
Ganga River enters the plains. We check into camp, which is
located on a large sandy beach on the banks of the Ganga river
- briefing on Camp, its activities and the trip to follow.
Campfire dinner and overnight at Camp.
Day2. An early
start to drive 4 hours to reach the raft put in point
below the Tehri Dam tunnel. Begin with negotiating a
series of Grade 3+rapids, in the first gorge section.
The valley broadens and after a river lunch, camp is
made after covering 30 river kms near Naggar village.
Take a short hike, campfire dinner and overnight.
Day3. Continue
down river negotiating more Grade III+ rapids. A short
lunch break, back on the river as it enters its second
gorge section with continuous Grade III & IV rapids
including a small waterfall towards the end of the gorge.
Rapids keep coming culminating in a couple of continuous
Grade IVs at the confluence at Devprayag. Camp near
Beas Ghat, 10 kms below the confluence, famous fishing
spot for the `mahseer', also called the Ganga Gold.at
Camp.
Day 4. An easy
day with small rapids. Great day to relax, soak in the
sun, bodysurf and bird-watch. Raft till Camp Silver
Sands a few kms below Kaudiyala after negotiating two
Grade IV rapids, "Daniel's Dip" and the "Wall".
Distance covered is approx.35 kms.
Day 5. Begin the
day with a few small rapids, go down "Three Blind
Mice", "Crossfire" and "Body Surfing
Rapid". Drive back to camp after covering 15 kms.
Day 6.Drive to
Shivpuri after breakfast. Raft big volume Ganga
white water with "Roller Coaster" and
"Golf Course" combined with lots of
body surfing, making it a grand finale to the
expedition. Depart for Delhi.
