One most important thing which I have seen since my years of trekking and climbing in India. There are different rules about camera. In some places-ONE CAMERA / TEAM is allowed by state Govt. but central govt. does not cast any light on it. You can not operate VIDEO CAMERA in closer to border areas. This is highly risky thing to do and one can be in trouble.

Briefing is required for trekking and climbing in himalayas. In my last 15 years of experience in himalayas- I have seen that people land up in trouble just being over confident or wrong information.

Over the weekend it seems that the news that everyone had been waiting for finally arrived, as the Nepali military finally arrived in Base Camp on Everest's South Side and began enforcing the rules that we've been hearing so much about for the past month.

Patnitop, 112 kms from Jammu. This famous hill resort is perched on a beautiful plateau, at an altitude of 2024 metres across which the Jammu-Srinagar Highway passes enveloped by thickly wooded forests and Patnitop offers beautiful picnic spots, peaceful walks and breathtaking views of the mountainscape of the Chenab basin. In winter, the resort is generally covered with thick mantle of snow thus providing opportunities for various snow games including skiing.

In purchasing equipment for the outdoors, I always use the same thought process. How often am I going to upgrade my equipment based on the new radical improvements that the manufacturer will come out with? How long before my existing equipment will become obsolete and I will have to replace it? How long will it be before I have a disadvantage with my existing equipment?

The easiest way to ruin a perfectly good backpacking experience is to have clothing that does not perform well. The clothes must be comfortable and protect you from the elements (wind, rain, snow, etc.). Layering your clothes is the most effective way to keep your backpacking experience both happy and safe.

Do you prefer Lonely planet guidebook ? I had come across different views, opinions on this issue that I thought this should be a topic here. I personaly like.. Lonely Planet to have background information, maps and some details but I do not take seriously reccommendations. I had gone through this reccommended business in AGRA and KERALA where I was shocked.
