Macloed Ganj-Chamba -Over Indra Har Pass

Day 01 : Arrival Delhi - Meet at the airport and transferred to hotel. Most international flights lands in night-stay in Delhi is recomended.

Day 02 : Reaching Jalandhar in PUNJAB. Hotel stay.

Day 03: Reaching macleod Ganj From Jalandhar.

Day 04: Rest Day

Day 05 : Macleod Ganj-Triund: Now road has reached upto Dharamkot and Triund is high ridge facing Dhauladhar Range. Triund at 2975m is very much famous among people from all overthe world to seek shelter in caves and doing yoga and meditation.

Day 06 : Triund-Lahesh Caves: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Gradual ascending through pine forest to open meadow and then comes Laka Got which is high altitude pastur and you will find permanant gaddi encampment here. After crossing small boulders, route to Lahesh Cave is a huge one which can house a large party at 4000m.

Day 07: Rest Day before you cross high pass

Day 08: Lahesh Cave- Indrahar Pass-Chatru Parao: Walking Time 6-7 hrs.> Have to be slow while crossing pass 4350m. Follow instructions of your leader/instructor. From pass you can see huge range of Dhauladhar, Mani Mahesh Kailash 5656m. After crossing this pass, descending is steep at first 300m and then gradual to Chatru Parao.

Day 09: Chatru Parao- Kuarsi : Walking Time 5-6 hrs.> Gradual descending to Kuarsi which is a shepherd village.

Day 10: Kuarsi-Machetar: Walking Time 6 hrs.> Machetar 1800m is roadhead.

Day 11: Back to Chamba: Traveling

Day 12: Travel for Delhi

Beas Kund in Himachal Pradesh

Day 01 : Arrival Delhi - Meet at the airport and transferred to hotel OR Travel for Chandigarh. This is aprox 300 kms. of journey- Overnight in hotel. { Most international flights lands in night-stay in Delhi is recomended )

Day 02: Travel from Chandigarh to Solang Valley through Kullu and Manali. Solang Valley is 17 kms. from Manali. This is aprox 250 kms. of journey which starts from foothills of Himalayas and reaches close to tale of Pir Panjal which is largest Himalayan Range.
Enroute we will stop for tea/coffee and snacks. Our travel is through small towns and villages of Himachal Pradesh which is becoming a role model in tourism and industry growth. ( Hydro Power,Horticulture and Agrocultue)

Day 03 : Rest Day at Solang Valley

Day 04: Solang - Dhundi - 3 hrs trek
A gentle walk along the bank of the river brings us to our camp. Glimpses of Indrasan (6220m ) and Deo Tibba ( 6000m ) are obtainable from here. Overnight camp on full board basis.

Day 05: Dhundi - Bakkar Thach - This is high altitude sheperd fields-please do see images

Day 06: Trek to Beas Kund - This is short climb up the ridge and then plateau of BEAS KUND.Shift of camp to Beas Kund depends on good weather. Packed lunch will be provided for a full day excursion in Beas Kund plateu and we come back in evening to Bakkar Thach-which is a high altitude shepher field.

Day 07 : Beas Kund-Bakkar Thach : back via same route.

Day 08 : Bakkar Thach - Solang Nala - Manali -hotel stay. Return to Solang and meet our prearranged transport to Manali.

Day 09: Travel back to CHANDIGARH-Hotel stay

Day 10: Travel back to Delhi -Tour Ends.

Stok Kangri Base Camp - Short trekking in Ladakh

Day 01 & 2 : Drive to Leh from Manali. Manali is overnight travel from Delhi by tourist 2X2 bus / by air to Bhunter airport which is 45km. from Manali. Journey to Leh is dusty,rocky but goes through two high passes Tanglang-La and Lachalunga-La. Tanglang La being 17250 ft. is second highest motorable pass of the world. Entoute our jeep stops at tourist camping place. Over night in tented camping site.

Day 03,04 : Leh -Day for sightseeing tour of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Monastery. Overnight stay at the hotel. Two days rest should be included when you come to Ladakh- as Leh itslef is situated on high plateu. Guided tour of monasteries is not included in package cost but if required- it is best add on…

Day 05 :Drive to Stok village & start of trek up to Manokarmo - a shepherd encampment- 3/4 hrs. of trekking. We usually suggest people to carry less wt. and walk slow-unless you are having adiquate experience to handle yourself in high altitude. if you are new to such atmosphere- walk with our instructors/guides, take lot of juices/water.

Day 06: Trek to Base Camp. Approx 5 hrs. of walk. If you are reading these lines- do not forget to visit picture gallery to view pictures.

Day07: Come back to Stok Village-same route( Shift To Hotel)

Day8,9: Back to Manali ( By air exit is fine if you had come by road from Manali) We will provide private vehicle for travel back to Manali.Shift to hotel for rest.

Day10: Back to Delhi

Rupshu Valley

Southeast of Leh this high altitude cold desert is the western extension of the Tibetan Plateau. Previously closed to visitors, this region offers some of the most amazing scenery to be found in Ladakh It is a land of monasteries and high passes, dissected by numerous mountain ridges and traversed by a number of ancient trading routes. We will venture in a mineral wilderness where only a few nomads live, totally reliant on their yak and sheep herds for their subsistence.

ITINERARY FOR RUPSHU VALLEY TREK

Day 01: Delhi. Airport - hotel transfer.

Day 02: Delhi - Leh (3500 m) by plane. Afternoon at leisure in Leh, where we can take a walk to the colorful bazaar.

Day 03: Leh - Hemis (3505 m) by car. Visit of the most famous and oldest monasteries of Ladakh (15th and 17th century), Thikse, Shey and Hemis.

Day 04: Hemis - Shang Sumdo (3850 m) in 4 h. Today we leave the Indus valley. We descend towards Martselang, then go up the valley, which is fairly narrow in some places, then continue along the riverbed to Shang Sumdo. A short and pleasant stage, in anticipation of the next two long following days.

Day 05: Shang Sumdo - Latza Kongmaru (4800 m) in 7 h. We progress along the river whose banks are punctuated with ochre rocks. From Chukirmo village, the track leads into narrow gorges where ponies need to be unloaded twice and go up to the base of Kongmaru La.

Day 06: Latza Gongmaru - Kongmaru La (5030 m) - Langtang Chu (4250 m) in 7 h. From the pass, there are great views north towards eastern Korakoram and China, whilst the southern vista is dominated by the shapely Kang Yatze (6400 m) and the Ladakhi range. We take a ridge trail and descend zigzagging across scree. Afterwards the path easily descends towards Nimaling summer pastures and Markha valley, the most beautiful valley in Ladakh.

Day 07: Langtang Chu - Yakrupal (4700 m) in 4 h. We climb up the large valley, and after crossing a stream follow on along a morainic wall.

Day 08: Yakrupal - Zalung Karpo La (5200 m) - Sorra (4200 m) in 5 h. We carry on upwards until the valley divides and take right. From the pass, we follow a ridge trail leading to another pass, then plunge into the valley.

Day 09: Sorra - Dat (4200 m) in 5 h. We follow gorgeous woody gorges until they widen into a valley. Manis and shortens are spread on the trail leading Sara and Dat rivers. Dat is a green village, where cultivation and vegetation takes every fragment of land.

Day 10: Dat - Yar La (5000 m) - Lungmo Che (4010 m) in 6 h. An easy climb takes us to the pass, where we enjoy a dramatic vista over the Rupshu. Sometimes some “Khyangs”, wild donkeys, go up to the caravans, frightening our ponies.

Day 11: Lungmo Che - Sangtha (4200 m) in 3 h. Then transfer by jeep to Sarchu. The landscape completely changes into a vast arid plain. Tibetan nomads mainly populate the area. The road to Sarchu winds its way up to the Lachlung La pass (5060 m).

Day 12: Sarchu - Manali (2000 m) by jeep. This journey is rewarded by magnificent landscapes. The road goes through amazing switch back roads, pass the blue Suraj Tal lake to Darcha and pass through Rohtang Pass (3954m) the last pass of this journey. The landscape is breathtaking. Rohtang Pass is a very wide pass, and is one of the most beautiful passes in the Pir Panjal. The view on both sides is exhilarating.

Day 13: Manali. Surrounded by snowy mountain peaks, Manali is also known as “Queen of Mountains”. It is a gloriously colorful market place for the surrounding villages. Visit old Manali, Hadimba temple and Vashisht village.

Day 14: Manali - Delhi (Private vehicle).

Day 15: Delhi. Day at leisure. Safety day for your international flight.

Day 16: Delhi. Hotel - airport transfer.

OPYION: You can travel to LEH by road and exit by air. This is best for proper acclimitization.

Padam to Lamayuru - Challenging trail

Day 1 & 2 : Reaching Padam from Sirinagar /Leh

Day 3 : Rest Day ( Acclimitization )

Day 4: Padum-Karsha : Walking Time 2 hrs.> There is a monastery at Karsha belonging to 10th century.

Day 5 : Karsha-Pishu: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Karsha 3600m, gradual ascending to village Rinam 3350m. Pishu is at 3470m.

Day 6 : Pishu-Hanumil: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Trail skirts around Zhanskar River and usually a level walk. Pidmu 3420m is about halfway. Hanumil 3380m is all about few houses.

Day 7 : Hanumil-Snertse: Walking Time 5 hrs.> Steady upwards to Purfi La 3950m, Coming to Zhanskar River and then steep ascending and descending and again 400m climb for Snertse 3850m. This is a shepherd settlement.

Day 8: Rest Day ( High Pass )

Day 9 : Snertse-Hanuman La - Lingshet: Walking Time 5-6 hrs.> Gradual ascending to Hanuman La 4950m. Descending is steep.Do visit Lingshet monastery which is very old and is close to the era when Budhism was being established in this area.

Day 10 : Lingshet-Base Singge La: Walking Time 5-6 hrs.> Gradual ascending to Netuke La 4280m. There is one more 400m climb of Khyupa La 4300m. It then gradually ascends to base of Singge La 5050m.

Day 11 : Singge La-Photaksar: Walking Time 5-6 hrs.> Climbing steep scree to negotiate Singge La. Gradual descending to Photaksar 4200m but requires patience as one gets too tired by the end of day.

Day 12: Rest Day ( High Pass )

Day 13: Photaksar-Sisir La -Hanupatta: Walking Time 6 hrs.> Gradual ascending to Sisir La 4850m. Spectacular view back of Zhanskar Range. Hanupatta 3760m is gradual descending.

Day 14 : Hanupatta-Wanlah: Walking Time 5 hrs.> Gradual descending, Wanlah 3250m is a small village.

Day 15 : Wanla-Lamayuru: Walking Time 3-4 hrs.> Gradual and wet day as some of the trek goes through watery and vegetative growth.

Day 16-17 : Travel to Sirinagar/ Leh

MINIMUM GROUP OF 8-10 is required for this trek.

Markha Valley - Popular trail in Ladakh.

Day 1 & 2 : Travel to Manali from Takeover Point and stay for a day for proper acclimatization. Local sightseeing can be undertaken by foot. ( Walking is essential while acclimatize)

Day 3& 4 : Travel to Leh by Jeep / Toursit Bus

Day 5 : Rest Day at Leh ( Stay in Hotel )

Day 6: Spitok-Rumbak: Walking Time 6-7 hrs.> Spitok monastery is one of the most importance as being one of the oldest from 15th centuary.A gradual walk through village Jingchan 3600m to Rumbak 3750m.

Day 7: Rumbak-Yurutse: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Spectacular view of Stok Range from Yurutse 4150m.

Day 8: Ganda La-Markha Valley: Walking Time 6-7 hrs.> Gandal La 4920m requires steady ascent and slow pace. Scenic view of Zhanskar Range. Through village Kaya 3650 it is gradual walk to Skiu 3700m.

Day 9: Rest Day

Day 10: Skiu-Markha: Walking Time 7-8 hrs.> Trail crosses the river Markha several times. There are army bridges so no problem in crossing river although in past it was a big problem and people have to trek kms. for finding proper place to cross safely. Markha village at 3850m is gradual walk through typical Ladakh trail.

Day 11: Markha-Nimaling: Walking Time 7-8 hrs.> Nimaling at 4650m is steady ascending and descending. Nimaling Plateau is green pasture where you can see permanent encampment of shepherds. This is a place which further provides excess to deep hidden valleys.

Day 12: Nimaling-Chogdo via kangmaru La: Walking Time 6 hrs.> This is not as strenuous as it looks. Stady ascent to La 5030m will require 2 hrs. at most. From there you can see scenic view of Nimaling Plateau which seems like a land out of dreams as this is only green pasture among brown and gray land of rocks and scree. Chogdo at 4050m is gradual but long descent.

Day 13: Chogdo-Hemis: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Walking besides stream, this is gradual walk to world famous monastery of Hemis which is said to be having links with Christ and Guru Nanak Dev, a Saint/Guru of Sikhs.

Day 14 & 15: Traveling Back to Manali

Leh to Nimaling - Short trekking in Ladakh.

Day 1: Hemis - Shang : Dive by jeep from Leh to and short walk to village Shang.

Day 2: Shang to base of Nimaling ( Kang Maru La ) La ( 5050m ) Long walk besides a tributary and gradual ascending. It can take 6/7 hrs.

Day 3: Rest Day

Day 4: Over La to camp in Nimaling Plateu. Gradual ascent. and descending to Nimaling.

Day 5 : Rest Day

Day 6: Back to Shang

Day 7: Back to Hemis

Traveling to Manali / Chandigarh from Leh: 2 days
Traveling to Delhi: 3 Days

Lamayuru To Chilling - Ladakh classic trails.

Day 1 & 2 & 3 : Reaching Lamayuru from Leh & 2 Rest Days ( Accilimitization )

Day 4 : Lamayuru-Wanlah: Walking Time 3-5 hrs.> Lamyuru at 3420 is situated at Leh-Kargil route. Gradual ascent to Prinkiti La 3750m. A less maintained but very old monastery is there which requires a entry fee.

Day 5 : Wanlah-Hinju: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Wanlah at 3250m and it requires gradaual ascent to Phanjila 3410m. Hinju village is named after Hinju valley and is situated at 3720m.

Day 6 : Rest Day ( High Pass )

Day 7 : Hinju-Konze la: Walking Time 6-7 hrs.> First gradual and then steeper for 200m to cross Konze La 4950m. Descening is bit steep though loose moraine.

Day 8 : Sumdo Chinmu-Base of Dung Dung La: Walking Time 3-4 hrs.> Sumdo Chinmu at 4300m has a samll monstery which not many people have known. Trail winds to valley floor 4250m and then steep ascending for high ridge 4430m.

Day 9 : Dung Dung La-Chilling: Walking Time 6 hrs.> It is not tough to negotiate 4820m of Dung Dung La and then gradual descending to Chilling 3350m . From La one can see large Himalayan Range of Zhanskar with many towering peaks.

Day 10- 11 : Reaching Back to Manali

Day 12 : Reaching Back to Chandigarh / Delhi

Kibber to Tsomoriri Lake

Kibber Tsomoriri Trek
This trek is popularly known as the Nomad Trek and it can be done from two sides either from Karzog in Leh the nomadic head quarter or it can be started from The Remote village of Spiti Kibber. The highlights of the trek are High Passes namely Parang La (5580m), Kyamayuri La (5410m) and Yalung Nayau La (5440 m). On the trek you find the beautiful plateau, nomadic villages, and the biggest brackish water Lake of Asia.

Situated on a grassy bank slopping down from the cliffs, it is an ideal location for the end of the day-march.

Day 05: Chhika to Balu Paddar (3800 m)
The impressive grandeur of immediate surroundings, the nearness of Tokru Shakru peaks, the wonderful coloring of the rocks and mountain side mark the trek.

Day 06: Balu Paddar to Hamta Pass (4270 m)
Over Hamta Pass at a height of 4270 m, get a close view of Deo Tibba & Indrasan.

Day 07: Hamta Pass to Chhatru
Cross the Hamta Pass and visit the Chandra Valley.

Day 08: Chhatru To Chhota Dara (3740 m)
A walk through the rugged valley.

Day 09: Chota Dara to Batal (3960 m)
Batal is situated at the foot of Kunzum Pass, which provides the main approach to Spiti from Lahoul.

Day 10: Batal to Chandertal (4270 m)
Chandertal or Lake Of Moon is of exquisite beauty. It is set on large meadows of alwaiss between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range with an outlet into Chandra River.

Day 11: Chandertal to Batal- Back trek and reaching Manali in evening.Hotel stay

Strenuous trek which requires some high altitude trekking experience . A Unique chance to see tribal culture of Kinnaur. Inner line permit required for Non- Indians and Indians have to register themselves at ITBP check post. A Valid ID is required.

Day 1: akeover from Delhi airport and 4 hrs of journey for CHANDIGARH. Overnight stay at CHANDIGARH.

Day 2: Reaching SHIMLA -traveling through SHIVALIK MOUNTAIN RANGE.

Day 3: Reaching Reacong Peo-this is long but scenic journey-you will be traveling on OLD SILK ROUTE. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4: Obtaining PERMIT and traveling to THANGI which is 2 hrs drive.

Day 5: Rest Day and short walks for proper acclimatization.

Day 6: Thangi-Lambar: Trail gradually ascends to village Lambar which is a small village with ITBP check post at 2890m.

Day 7: Lambar-Surting: Surting is a small high land and here meets two river streams forming Lambar river. A high tech ITBP post at 3150m , will check your papers as they already had been intimated by Lambar and Thangi posts about movement of trekkers.

Day 8: Surting to Charang: Walking Time 3hrs.> Charang is famous for it’s monastery Rest Day for proper rest and acclimatization. This ia parallel walk and you will enjoy the scene.

Day 9: Charang to Below Lalanti Pass: This is moderate level of ascending and we will camp below LALANTI PASS.

Day 10: Reaching Lalanti : : Lalanti is a high altitude shepherd pastures and snow leopard is also seen here in winters. This area is also famous for Ibex. trail ascends gradually to Lalanti 4420m.

Day 11: Short walk to base of pass. Most walk is on moraine and boulders.

Day 12: Rest Day- next day have to cross pass- and a descending to Chitkul Valley.

Day 13: Lalanti-Chitkul via Charang La (5260m) : Walking Time 8-9 hrs. Hard day, should be early started. Walking though impressive terminal moraine, negotiating 200m of steep climb to pass from where spectacular view of Gharwal and Sangla Valley is seen. Descending is steep upto 200m and then becomes gradual to Chitkul 3450m which is also a read head.

Day 14: Reaching SHIMLA- we shall be starting early from CHITKUL and by evening we shall be reaching SHIMLA.

Day 15: Reaching Delhi

Pin Parvati Pass - A Challenge

Day 01 : Arrival Delhi - Meet at the airport and transferred to hotel. Most international flights lands in night-stay in Delhi is recomended.

Day 02 : Reaching Chandigarh. Hotel stay. Do visit ROCK GARDEN,ROSE GARDEN and SUKHNA LAKE.

Day 03: Travel to MANIKARAN via KULLY VALLEY

Day 04: Manikaran-Pulga: Walking Time 3-4 hrs.> Manikaran at 1700m is very popular religious place where people of all faiths comes to wish. Pulga 2100m is very famous among trekkers but mostly returns back. Small tea stalls and hotels are settled in apple orchards and are usually crowded with foreigners.

Day 05: Pulga-Kheer Ganga: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> Trail gradually ascends to Kheer Ganga which is a scenic place and now supported by a ” shelter” which is usually heavily crowded by foreigners. Kheer Ganga2850m is a open meadow.

Day 06: Kheer Ganga-Bhojtunda: Walking Time 5 hrs.> Steay ascend to the gorge. Valley then widens and trail crosses several beautiful pasturs supporting many types of wildflowers. There are some Gujjar/Gaddi shepherd emcampments and this will be last human settlement you will be watching. Bhojtunda is 3200m high pastur.

Day 07: Bhojtunda-Thakur Khan: Walkgint Time 4-5 hrs.> Crossing through rocks and dense vegitation. You will see remains of Indian Army helicopter which crashes in high winds when trying to land-just toppled due to velocity of wind. Thakur Khan 3400m is above the cliffs.

Day 08: Thakur Khan-Mantakal Lake: Walking Time 6-7 hrs.> You will be lucky if you could see any shepherd encampment. There is a natural bridge and is known as Pandu Bridge.Trail makes some ups and downs and then goes through flowered meadows. To reach Mantakal Lake 4070m, it is 200m of steep ascending over boulders which may not be tough for people who had some expereince but first timer may find learning lessons.

Day 09: Manatak Lake-High Camp: Walking Time 7 hrs.> Crossing terminal moraine and walking by cairns through boulders is high altitude ritual and expereinced trekkers will find it easy and first timers will be able to learn how to find route among boulders and scree of terminal moraine. In bigger climbing expeditions-even expereinced climbers had been seen loosing their ‘way through’. So, this type of walking in high altitude is must to learn for people who love Himalayan trekks.

Day 10: High Camp-Pin Parvati Pass-Pin valley: Walking Time 5 hrs.> From high camp, steep 300m climb to a snoefield and then a small col is way to cross this legendary pass.Pin Parvati Pass 4810m is marked by cairns and prayer flags. Descending is gradual.

Day 11 : Pin valley-Mud: Walking Time 8hrs.> Gradual desceding towards valley floor to village Mud 3600m.

Day 12 : Mud-Sangam: Walking Time 4-5 hrs.> A gradual walk though Spiti valley which is a landscape of it’s own type. Sangam is a road head and you can catch bus for manali or Shimla.

Day 13 : Traveling To Recong Peo-hotel stay.

Day 14: trave back to SHIMLA

Day 15: Travel back to DELHI

Shorter Options in Parvati Valley:

Camping: Manikaran is road head and as we mentioned Pulga is 2-3 hrs. walking distance and is ideal place for camping with families /friends.Old and small kids can easily walk on jeepable road which is well marked with teastalls enroute. himadventures.net is regularly using this region for summer camps and as well as family campings.

Trekking: If not for Pin Parvati pass-one can easily reach to Kheer Ganga and Mantalai beyond.
